Weddings

It’s a well-known fact and no surprise, weddings are stressful to organize before you even start thinking about the entertainment. Allow us to take some pressure off your planning and take care of that for you. We’ll organize planning meetings with you, walk through the entire day, visit the venue, liaise with your other vendors and provide insight into the logistics, timeline and all other aspects based on our previous experience so your special day is no cookie cutter event.

Our online event planning tools help you plan your Ceremony, Reception, music selection for the dances, cake cutting, intro and exits and create a timeline so we can help keep everything on track and play the music you requested. Then let us do what we do best and provide an awesome party for everyone. We take pride in selecting and playing the music and will seamlessly transition between songs and genres to keep the dance floor full.

Allow our professional DJs to take some of the stress out of your wedding by providing speech training techniques so everyone will be able to hear your vows and the all important speeches. Your ceremony music will be at the correct level and timed perfectly. Is your wedding somewhere in the foothills or at a secluded mountain retreat where there’s no power? No problem! Our portable ceremony package can go with you and provide battery powered speakers and microphones for everyone to hear.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long have you been DJing?

I have over 30 years of professional DJing experience and have performed at all types of events in different venues and countries for audiences ranging from small family gatherings to large corporate and public events of over 1000 people.

What type of equipment do you use?

I only use top of the line professional equipment and I’m always looking at new technology to improve your experience. Most recently, all the frequently used lighting was upgraded to battery powered and wireless control allowing it to be placed anywhere.

Do you have any backup plans if something goes wrong?

I always carry a backup music system and a variety of spare equipment should something fail. The show must go on!

Will I play requests?

I only take requests if you allow it. If allowed, I “filter” requests, meaning I will not play a song or a genre that you specifically asked me not to play. If someone makes a request that fits in well with what we’re playing at the time and with the music you want, then I will try and play it.

Can we request songs for the DJ to play?

You are able to pick which songs you definitely want to hear, and ones you do not want to hear for your event.

Can we provide our own music for the DJ to play?

Sure, but I would like to get the music at least 3 days in advance of the event. If doing this, please consider the audience attending your event and not everyone may share the same taste in music as you! I can also import Spotify playlists, emails and spreadsheets directly into my DJ software.

What are your payment terms?

The deposit is required within 7 days of booking and the remaining balance is due 2 weeks before the event.

Do I tip the DJ?

I do not include gratuity in the final contract price. 15-20% is generally recommended if you consider I did an awesome job, but it is entirely up to you. I am equipped with a card “swiper” and able to accept tips or additional payments at or after the event.

Will the DJ play overtime if needed?

Yes, I am able to play past the contracted time, but payment is due at that time if at all possible. I am equipped with a card “swiper” to accept payment for overtime.

When should we book a DJ?

A good time frame is at least six to twelve months out for a wedding. Less for other events. However, I am sometimes available for last minute events and work with a number of other professionals who may have availability.

Should we feed the DJ?

This is not required in the contract and is completely up to you. Typically, the catering director or event coordinator will set aside a meal or boxed dinner for the vendors if requested by the client.

What other services do you offer?

I offer ceremony audio, sound systems, a variety of lighting, lasers, haze (better than smoke) and photo booths. Audio editing to shorten or modify any song and own a 140″ screen and projector for sharing magical memories with friends or to show backyard movies.

How many songs should I request?

I would like for you to provide at least 15-20 songs of different genres and artists you would like to hear, as well as songs/artists you don’t so I have an idea of what music you’d like for the different parts of the event.

What do you wear when performing?

I always wear full suit and tie but feel free to inform me if your event has a theme and you’d like me to be a part of it!
